From the information inside the dust jacket:

"This fully illustrated book covers a subject that is fast becoming one of the most engaging ancient crafts yet to be revived. With the increase in leisure activities throughout the country, macrame is establishing a rightful place in the forefront. The author, Eunice Close, understands her subject fully and is able to write clearly and concisely, so that the true learner of the craft will be able to follow the instructions without difficulty.

The first part of the book deals with all the knots and materials that are required and the text is amply illustrated with easy-to-follow diagrams.

The second part of the book contains 25 items to make, all of which have been specially photographed in colour or black and white. The items range from simple table mats and garments to wear to decorative ideas for the home.

The photographs illustrate superbly the finer points of this fascinating craft, and anyone from beginner to experienced macrame expert will be inspired by the simplicity in the presentation of the book."
